FCIL is a nonprofit organization created by and for people with disabilities. As a resource and advocacy organization, the Freedom Center provides a variety of services that promote independence.  Services include:  independent living skills training, one-on-one consultation, peer support and mentoring.  FCIL also provides information about advocacy methods, how to contact public officials, civil rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act and other legislation, and effective letter writing, phone calls, and other communication.
